A Heritage of High Performance and Innovation
KRYTAR was founded by Thomas J. Russell in 1975. Mr. Russell was a recognized microwave pioneer specializing in ultra-broadband coupler technology. He developed one of the first proprietary computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools for creating microwave couplers and was a recognized leader in high performance designs. His original work laid the foundation for KRYTAR becoming a leader in ultra-broadband, high performance microwave products. In 2006 Thomas J. Russell was named one of the industry’s top 10 Microwave Legends for his work in engineering.
Today KRYTAR has a dedicated facility for the design, manufacture and support of our products. Mr. Russell’s original management style was based on trust and respect for both his employees and customers. The continuation of his management philosophy has been essential in building strong relationships with our customers and has resulted in steady growth for 50 years.

KRYTAR has a catalog of over 300 products, most of which are in stock for immediate use. The product line covers DC to 110 GHz and includes directional couplers and detectors, 3 dB hybrids, MLDD power dividers, terminations, coaxial adapters, bias tees, and Butler matrices, monopulse comparators, and beamformers.
KRYTAR also offers a varied selection of components for your quantum/cryogenic designs. Using materials optimized for extreme cold environments they are uniquely designed for cryogenic to +85° C applications.

KRYTAR products are designed and manufactured in the U.S. in our state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Silicon Valley’s technology center.
For five decades, KRYTAR has delivered cutting-edge designs, unmatched reliability, and a collaborative approach that ensures your projects succeed, no matter how complex. Our modern facility houses a completely equipped machine shop, including CNC lathes and mills. The company also possesses all the electronic test equipment necessary for testing its products from DC to 110 GHz.
Included in the test equipment is a Hewlett Packard 8510B Automatic Network Analyzer with 8515A (45 MHz – 26.5 GHz) and 8517A (45 MHz – 50.0 GHz) S-Parameter Test Sets and Agilent Technologies E8361A PNA Series Network Analyzer (10 MHz – 67 GHz) along with equipment to cover 110 GHz
The KRYTAR Quality Assurance Program is in accordance with MIL-I-45208 including a calibration system per MIL-STD-45662. KRYTAR microwave components are manufactured in full compliance with the EU RoHS-6 Environmental Requirements. To ensure reliability and performance, the quality assurance system controls all phases of manufacturing: purchasing, machining, processes, assembling, testing and shipping.
Products manufactured for space and thermal vacuum applications undergo additional reliability and quality assurance inspections during all phases of assembly, electrical evaluation, and shock/vibration testing. Parts, materials and processes are fully traceable from subordinate to top-level assemblies.
