KRYTAR 180-Degree Hybrid Couplers are four-port components with dual input and output ports.
KRYTAR’s hybrid couplers offer wide frequency coverage in single, compact packages, which provide low insertion loss, high directivity and tight coupling. These hybrid couplers offer simple solutions in many applications within those frequency bands including Space, electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, and EMC testing environments. For many space-restricted situations, the compact size of these KRYTAR couplers is ideal.
These couplers can also be manufactured to meet military specifications.
KRYTAR’s new hybrid coupler, Model 4010265-TV, delivers exceptional versatility from 1.0 to 26.5 GHz with excellent phase and amplitude matching. Typical specifications include 3 dB Coupling; Amplitude Imbalance: ±1.0 dB (1-20 GHz) and ±1.5 dB (20-26.5 GHz); Phase Imbalance is ±16-degrees; Isolation is >15 dB; Maximum VSWR: 1.80 (1-20 GHz) and 1.95 (20-26.5 GHz); and Insertion Loss of ±3.0 dB (1-20 GHz) and ±3.6 dB (20-26.5 GHz).
In addition, Model 4010265-TV offers Input Power Rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The hybrid coupler comes with industry-standard SMA Female Connectors. The compact package measures just 4.04 inches (L) x 1.35 inches (W) x 0.52 inches (H) and weighs only 4.6 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C.

Couplers are passive microwave components used for distributing or combining microwave signals. Directional couplers are four-port circuits where one port is isolated from the input port.
Amplitude Imbalance: The amount of level variation between a hybrid’s two outputs.
The coupled port on a microstrip, or stripline directional coupler, is closest to the input port because it is a backward wave coupler. On a waveguide broadwall directional coupler, the coupled port is closest to the output port because it is a forward wave coupler.
VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio): The ratio of the maximum voltage to the minimum voltage in standing wave pattern along the length of a transmission line structure. It varies from 1 to (plus) infinity and is always positive.
Insertion Loss: Net unrecoverable power in dB dissipated within the circuit at any frequency within the specified range.
Frequency Sensitivity: The amount of frequency change in the carrier frequency per unit amplitude change in the message signal.
